Oil on canvas
20 x 16″
A set of four 20 x 16” paintings called Leona’s Tree. Leona Jolly, the artist’s mother, commissioned her son to paint her favorite Bradford Pear tree at her home in East Texas. She took photos of it in the various seasons and wanted it to represent the seasons of life. In painting this tree of Leona’s her son was reminded of her beauty and ability to adapt to the seasons in her life, and of course of the sweetness of the fruit that her life bore. As a tribute to a life well lived, the set was completed just a few months before Alzheimer’s took Leona’s life.
