Oil on canvas, wooden staff
60″ x 48″
Stand alone, self contained piece, taking on a whole different meaning unto itself.
A bold and powerful mixed media interpretation of the 23rd Psalm employing a stained and gold gilded wooden staff attached to right canvas, pointing to and overlaying the left. Painterly elements reflect the palpable presence of God as rendered in the dimensional staff, in the midst of a stormy and violent presence of evil. Typographic elements from the passage are shown as glazed under and overlays. Double- framed with a simple finished pine gallery frame (not shown). Mixed media art, made with oil, acrylic and gold gilding on canvas, stained and gold gilded driftwood.
