Humans are innately weak and helpless, subject to frailties, fallibility, disease and danger. From the moment we are born into this world we begin the inexorable departure from it. Our humblest self is represented in an unborn baby, perfectly formed, but fragile and exposed.
Likewise, the Christ, whose very nature is perfect, gentle and tender, was also subject to the worst this world could offer. He is therefore one who can sympathize with our weakness and is a very present help in times of need.
